Citizens' Climate Lobby's Arlington Chapter is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change.

Native Prairies Association of Texas, Fort Worth Chapter: Paul Mathews Prairie Field Trip - Floyd

Opportunity to visit a rare 100-acre block of Blackland Prairie. The Native Prairies Association of Texas is raising $50,000 to buy it. It's near Greenville, within 90 minutes from Fort Worth and an hour from Dallas.

Meet at a location in Floyd near US 380 TBA and carpool to the site. Please RSVP on FB page. Attendance space is limited. Check page for developments. 

Citizens' Climate Lobby: Fort Worth Chapter Meeting - Fort Worth

Feeling like the time has come for Congress to take action on climate change? Come join the monthly meeting for the Fort Worth chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby. Now is a great time to get involved because we have several volunteer opportunities available to anyone who is interested.

We are again meeting at the Natural Grocers in their wonderful teaching room. Feel free to bring a grocery list since it also happens to be a great place to stock up the kitchen.

Native Prairies Association of Texas, Blackland Chapter: Brett Johnson, Dallas Parks & Rec - Dallas

Brett Johnson, urban biologist for Dallas Parks & Recreation, will speak about the progress and setbacks about the Blackland Prairie parcels at White Rock Lake, including Johnson grass and Queen Anne’s lace control, privet clearing, mowing practices, Flag Pole Hill plans, and more.

Oliver Nature Park: invasive Species - Mansfield

Plants and animals that are not native to an area can spell trouble for the ecosystem. What are some of the invasive species that are unwelcome in the DFW area? How much damage can be done by small animals like mussels and beetles? Join a naturalist at Oliver Nature Park to get answers to these questions, and learn what you can do to help keep Mansfield safe from the species invasion! Preregistration required.

Keep McKinney Beautiful: Build a Rain Barrel - McKinney

Rain barrels are constructed from repurposed food grade containers, capacity is 55 gallons. Each participant will be provided with insect netting, a hose bib (faucet), caulk and adapter. The barrel will be fully functional and ready to be placed under a down spout. Each rain barrel is $50 each, build one, two, three or four. (Please make sure you can transport them in your vehicle). Payment much be received at seminar.
