Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area: Star Party - Fort Worth

After many years at the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History, the well-attended, monthly public star parties presented by the Fort Worth Astronomical Society (FWAS) have moved to Tandy Hills Natural Area.

Established in 1949, FWAS is one of the first adult amateur astronomy clubs formed in the country and one of the largest with more than 200 active members.

Members will have several telescopes set up at Tandy Hills for viewing the night sky.

Ray Roberts Lake State Park: Dutch Oven Breakfast - Pilot Point

Come learn about the basics of Dutch oven cooking, as well as a bit of history associated with the oven. We’ll also be cooking a tasty Dutch oven breakfast, so bring your fork and appetite for a sample.

We will have paper plates and disposable forks, however visitors are encouraged to bring their own if they can (reduce, reuse, recycle!)

Free with park entry fee $7. Children 12 and under free. 

Ray Roberts Lake State Park: Nature Journal Writing - Valley View

Love being outside? Interested in writing? Come learn all about the art of nature journaling. There are different types of natural journals. See which one is right for you, and get some practice writing your own! Bring your own journal and art supplies if possible; there are a limited number of journals/art supplies available. Meet at Picnic Pavilion One. 

Free with park entry fee $7. Children 12 and under free.
