Bird and nature walks, tree and plant identification, and more
Evening provides a unique opportunity to view animals that make the Nature Center their home. Bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing. Meet at Front Gate. Pre-registration required. $10 with paid admission $2-$5.
Guided hike around the Nature Center to see if we can find birds beginning their day. This is the best time of the day to see our fine feathered friends. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from us and your camera to enhance your experience. Pre-registration required. Free with paid admission $2-$5.
Fundraiser features 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run along with family friendly activities, live music. Registration includes admission to the Nature Center, breakfast, arts and crafts, face painting, balloon animals and drawings.

Master birder Shannon Love will lead a walk at Twelve Hills, where volunteers have recorded over fifty bird different species. Bring your own binoculars if you have them. There will also be some available to borrow.

Conor and Mason Puckett hiked from Canada to Mexico along the Pacific Crest Trail from June 28 to Oct. 28, 2015. Traversing the "Crest" of the Cascade and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges, they endured blistering heat, freezing cold, physical and mental anguish and even a little bit of fun. Okay, a lot of fun. This presentation will cover some of what goes into the planning and execution of a thru-hike, as well highlights along the way.

Lifelong birder and Texas master naturalist Scott Kiester will present “Birding 101.” Scott will cover birding basics including how to identify birds, where to find them, birding etiquette and buying and using binoculars and field guides.
Join us the following Saturday, April 9, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. for a bird walk at Heritage Park in Flower Mound where we’ll look for birds showcased in the program.
