As the sun sets, nocturnal forms of wildlife creep out of the shadows. Walk with us around the Boardwalk to find night dwelling animals rummaging through leaf litter and owls weaving in and out of trees hunting for food. Meet at Front Gate. Pre-registration required. $10 (with paid admission).
A mini-pilgrimage reminiscent of Spain's Camino de Santiago. Spend a weekend with fellow 'peregrinos' hiking the trails of High Hope Ranch and Fossil Rim's Overlook getting a taste of the 500-mile, 1,000-year-old pilgrimage along northern Spain. Package price includes meals, snacks, hiking Friday afternoon-early evening, Saturday (up to 9 miles), and Sunday morning, maps, a pasaporte and 'albergue-style' accommodations Friday and Saturday evenings. The Trinity Bird Count seeks to inventory the various bird species that use the Metroplex stretch of the Trinity River in order to inform bird habitat conservation and management along the river. Since 2011, birders have shared observations for more than 250 bird species!
