Native Prairies Assocation of Texas: Texas Prairies Bus Tour - Central Texas

For those who are up for a tour that's a little more rugged, the Native Prairies Assocation of Texas is hosting its second annual Texas prairies bus tour. Tour route includes Temple, Taylor area, Marlin and then near Crawford. Lunch in Salado is included in fee. Dinner in West is on your own. Central Texans registered to follow in own vehicles will receive email with meet-up instructions. READ ABOUT LAST YEAR'S TOUR.

Historic Fort Worth: Hidden Gardens Tour - Fort Worth

Tour 7 private gardens in historic Berkeley Place. There was no sneak peek photo available at time of press so they mean it when they say "hidden." However, this tour is guaranteed to feature a variety of charming backyards of Fort Worth's quaint vintage homes.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at gate. Tickets may be purchased at Archie's Gardenland, C.C.’s Touch of Nature and the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House or online.

White Rock East Garden Tour & Artisans - Dallas

Hosted by the neighborhood associations of Forest Hills, Little Forest Hills and Casa Linda Estates. Nine creative gardens in Forest Hills, Little Forest Hills and Casa Linda Estates will be showcased this year, featuring terraced landscaping, peaceful retreats, large organic gardens, water features, lavish outdoor entertaining venues, fun and funky art, and incredible landscaping, trees, and flowers. In addition to dedicated gardeners, these neighborhoods are home to many talented artists who will have their unique creations for sale in the gardens.

Nature Conservancy: Clymer Meadow Spring Wildlife Tour - Celeste

Dallas Sierra Club: Wilderness Navigation Class - Dallas (Thru April 27)

Comprehensive and fun two-night class to help you navigate in the backcountry with map and compass. Class starts at 6:30 both nights. $40. Handout included. An optional practice hike for class participants will be Sat. or Sun. morning, whichever is best for those attending. Pay in advance through the Dallas Sierra Club website or pay at the door. Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area: Celebrate Birds - Lewisville

Events will range from birding walks, to family hands-on activities that celebrate birds, to kayaking while watching for birds. Several activities are free with admission to LLELA of $5 per vehicle, while others require pre-registration by the Friday, May 5. Full details can be found on LLELA’s website.
