'Awake' screening captures power of Native American resistance

DFW clean air group solarizes green renovation in Dallas

A DFW clean air group is enhancing a green renovation in Dallas by providing $300,000 in solar panels for the 1808 mixed-use development and GoodWork coworking space. This grant, from Downwinders at Risk’s Sue Pope Fund, marks the closure of a fund supporting North Texas clean air projects since 2006.

Enrollment open for DFW community organizing school

Downwinders at Risk's College of Constructive Hell-Raising in DFW, starting January 16, 2018, trains activists in social change strategies, historical context, and networking. A chain link fence in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas recently got an eco-friendly makeover. The once drab border surrounding an apartment complex construction site at 305 Melba Street now sports a vibrant underwater scene made from discarded materials. As a result, a colorful seahorse, toothy shark, trailing seaweed, undulating waves and stylish school of fish is drawing smiles and compliments from local residents.
