Solar-powered IKEA to open in Grand Prairie Wednesday

IKEA's new solar-powered Grand Prairie location opens tomorrow, featuring a 290,000-square-foot building with a 1.25 MW solar array of 2,800 panels that will supply 55-65% of its energy. This marks IKEA's 47th U.S. solar project, enhancing its sustainability and commitment to renewable energy and green corporate practices.

Dallas pipeline protestor to be honored at Peacemaker awards

Dallas-based activist Yolonda Blue Horse, known for her environmental and indigenous rights activism, will receive the Justice Seeker of the Year award at the 2017 Peacemaker Awards Banquet on Nov. 30. Her efforts include founding the Society of Native Nations and leading protests against pipelines threatening tribal lands.

'Awake' screening captures power of Native American resistance

Green Source DFW and the Memnosyne Institute screened 'Awake', a documentary about the Standing Rock protest, highlighting the reawakening of Native American pride. The film and an accompanying panel emphasized divesting from fossil fuel supporters, reclaiming power, and decolonizing language for sustained resistance.
