2017 Green Source DFW awards to feature 'John Muir'

Every year, greenies gather to celebrate pioneering green leaders at the Green Source DFW Sustainable Leadership Awards. But this year's event, hosted by the Memnosyne Institute on Nov. 9 at the Dallas Arboretum, will be a virtual trip back in time.

Donations to green nonprofits boosted on North Texas Giving Day

On North Texas Giving Day, donations of $25 or more are enhanced with bonus dollars to support local environmental and animal welfare nonprofits. Participating groups include those addressing climate change solutions and promoting conservation, such as Texas Trees Foundation and Humane Society of North Texas.

New bike share program rolled out at UTA

UTA launched a new bike share program funded by a $58,000 Green Mountain Energy Sun Club grant. It offers students sustainable transportation with 30 Zagster bikes across campus. Membership costs $25 annually, with bikes free for two hours. The program promotes safety and reduced carbon footprints.

North Texas gardening tips to be shared with nonnative residents

The Newcomer’s Guide to Gardening in North Texas on Sept. 16 at Collin College features expert presentations to help new residents tackle North Texas gardening challenges. Nearly 300 participants from 31 states and ten countries have registered, highlighting the event's success in addressing soil, pest, and water conservation issues.

Amid a festive atmosphere dubbed "Eclipsestock," they experienced awe and camaraderie during the eclipse's totality.
