UNT shows it ‘means green’ by opting for renewable energy

The University of North Texas is known as “Mean Green” in sports but the moniker has come to refer the campus’ ambitious environmental initiatives. This spring, the university demonstrated its committment to green policies when it switched to 100 percent renewable energy.

The event to be held Feb. 20-23 on TCU campus is a partnership between Brite Divinity School, TCU and University Christian Church. The presentations are free and open to the public.

Green Revolution, a program developed in 2012 by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas in Fort Worth, and funded by Rainwater Charitable Foundation and grants, teaches students, ages 12 through 18, to belong environmentally.

Energy summit brings internationally known experts to Dallas

The Dallas Sierra Club's Earth, Wind & Fire Energy Summit on Oct. 22-23 will educate attendees, including officials and the public, on Texas energy and new technology, featuring expert discussions on climate change, battery storage, and renewable energy. Early registration is $55, increasing to $75 after Oct. 1.
