Guided twilight stroll down one of LLELA’s nature trails. We may hear some bumps in the night, but have no fear...it’s probably just an armadillo. Howling coyotes, hooting owls and other nocturnal sounds will provide an out-of-the-ordinary hiking experience. Ages 5 and up. Registration required by 11 a.m. the day before the night hike.
Monarch butterflies travel through our area on their way to their overwintering habitat in Mexico. Learn about this great migration and how you can become involved in citizen science activities to advance our knowledge of this awesome journey. Understand what role fall flowers play in supporting monarch flight. Discover the pollinators who share butterflies’ floral needs when summer is closing, and what they do to prepare for winter. $10. Registration is limited to 12 so register early!

Plan your Certified Monarch WayStation now at this family fun workshop. We will cover everything you need to create your certified waystation. You will go home with handouts, plant lists and if we have enough response a project during class.

Some of the wildlife in Mansfield is only active during the evening and night. Join a naturalist as we try to identify some of the sounds and sights of natural night life! Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. No need for a flashlight; our eyes adjust to the darkness. All participants over 2 years of age must pre-register for this program. Each child must have at least one adult attending and registered for the program. We encourage this program for the whole family! $10. $8/early registration.
