Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association: So You Think You Want Bees - Dallas

"So You Think You Want Bees" is a two-part Fall/Winter class presented by Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association designed to help inform a prospective urban beekeeper about everything they need to know in considering beginning their beekeeping adventure next spring. 

Part 1 (Oct. 9) of this class will cover reasons to want to keep bees, concerns and considerations, time/space/monetary investment, working with neighbors, as well as local and state regulations. 

Great Seed Bomb: Wildflower Workshops - Dallas (Thru Dec. 9)

Join The Great Seed Bomb as it rolls across Dallas, Tx with a series of free wildflower seedball workshops from Nov. 11 - Dec. 9!. Participants and volunteers will learn how to source materials and manufacture seedballs by hand and with a tumbler, get acquainted with Dallas' urban farm and conservation leaders on their own turf, and practice their new seedball making skills with materials that will be used to jumpstart a pocket prairie along the Trinity Forest Trails.

North Texas Master Naturalists: North Texas Master Naturalist 101 - Dallas

North Texas Master Naturalists are hosting nature-related talks and activities such as Weird and Wild Critters of DFW, Photography as a Naturalist's Tool, Edible Plant Walk and much more. Please register by 11-7 to order a box lunch from Cafe Momentum ($18 + 1.98 fee). Otherwise, it's free. FYI Save some time to walk through Mountain View's prairie!

Fort Worth Audubon Society: Hummingbirds of Ecuador and Columbia - Fort Worth

Learn about some of the world’s most amazing and beautiful birds. Ecuador and Columbia have more than 160 hummingbird species with habitats ranging from sea level to 14,000 feet. Bob & Vicki Moore have traveled to both countries several times and will present identification information, preferred habitats and beautiful photographs covering various species such as Thorntails, Hermits, Woodstars, Emeralds, Sapphires, Sunangels and many more.
