Farmers Assisting Returning Military: Agriculture Workshops for Military Veterans - Dallas

The Battleground to Breaking Ground Agriculture Workshops for Military Veterans are designed for Veterans with or without disabilities, their spouses, small scale producers and those interested in starting an ag business. This workshop provides education regarding agriculture business ideas and start-up, business plan development, possibilities for farming/ranching with a disability, financial funding sources for farming and ranching and resources to support agricultural business operations.

Farmers Assisting Returning Military: Bonton Farms Tour - Dallas

Texas AgrAbility, Battleground to Breaking Ground, Dallas County AgriLife Extension, and Farmers Assisting Returining Military (F.A.R.M.) are hosting a farm tour and ag workshop August 4 & 5. 

The farm tour will be held at Bonton Farms, an urban agriculture operation situated in a food desert in the heart of Dallas.

Dallas Vegan Roundup: DFW Summer Vegan Potluck & Picnic - Grapevine

Join us for the 2nd Annual DFW Vegan Potluck & Picnic. Trawick pavilion offers basketball, sand volleyball, lake access for swimming, a children's playground, and more. Your payment includes vegan burgers and hot dogs and helps pay the entry fee for reserving the pavilion.

Bring a vegan dish as well – we will have sign-ups for dishes so we’ll be sure to have a variety of food.

Tickets are $6 per adult ($8 after 7/21), $4 children 4-17 ($6 after 7/21), and children 3 and under are free.

Tarrant Area Food Bank: Dig Deep - A Conference for Growers - Fort Worth

Network with backyard gardeners, community garden leaders and area farmers as well as participate in a variety of workshops.

"Learning as We Grow" is this year's theme and features three unique tracks: Community, Home, and Market. This conference will provide a unique opportunity for growers from different fields to share experiences, knowledge and resources. All topics are most suitable for beginner and intermediate level growers.

Howard Garrett, the Dirt Doctor, is the keynote speaker.
