Free, family-oriented street festival for 25,000+ revelers to feature dragon and lion dances, kung fu and breakdancing demos, Beijing Opera renditions, crafts, music, colorful performances, food trucks, fortune telling and more, plus a fireworks finale in the heart of the Dallas Arts District.
The Christmas Bird Count is the longest-running citizen science survey in the world, contributing invaluable data to scientists studying bird population trends. Our kids' version of the count gives children ages 5 years and up a taste of the real deal.

Go on a guided hike led by a River Legacy Naturalist to explore the flora and fauna of River Legacy Parks at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm. Hike will be followed by a craft or activity. Dallas artists VET and Sheila Cunningham join forces to showcase the power of trees and books, contemplating the transitional phases of both. Their installation transforms the Focus Gallery into a forest of altered books that have been folded, manipulated and stacked to mimic trees, plants and ground cover. The exhibit inspires conversation about re-purposing, recycling and conservation.
Take a break from the frigid temperatures outside and come into our Earth Explorers Camp as we learn about ways that animals in Texas avoid the ice and snow! For K-4th grade. $140.
