River Legacy: Fall Festival - Arlington (Oct. 12-13)

This new family friendly fall festival combines the best of After Dark in the Park and the City’s Eco-Fest through a variety of games, crafts and activities, featuring a pumpkin patch, storytelling, bounce houses, composting, camping demos and recycling and water conservation. $8 per person/ages 3 & up. More than 30 activities at River Legacy Park and River Legacy Living Science Center are included with admission.

Fort Worth Audubon Society: Birding Scavenger Hunt - Arlington

This is a “bragging rights” competition, so bring your team, or bring yourself and you’ll be assigned to a team. Everyone needs to meet at 6:45 a.m. in the parking lot in front of Al's Hamburgers. Please call or text FWAS Scavenger Hunt leader Paula Channell ahead of time at 817-405-8132 to let her know who all is coming, and to ask questions if needed. There are no participation limits, and non-members as well as FWAS members are welcome. Team groups will depart from the parking lot at 6 a.m.

Trinity Park Conservancy: Trinity Park Volunteer Day & Seedball Workshop - Dallas

Volunteers needed for a family-friendly volunteer trash cleanup and seedball making day in Harold Simmons Park!. Meet at the Trinity Overlook Park at Commerce Street and Beckley Avenue.

The Great Seed Bomb will be leading the Seedball Workshop where you can get your hands dirty and make native grass and wildflower seedballs that will be dispersed in different areas along the Trinity River Corridor. Sowing seedballs helps to reinforce habitats vital to the migration of monarchs, the well-being of bees, and adds beauty to our green spaces.

Dallas Vegan Roundup: North Texas Vegan Potluck Picnic - Grapevine

4th annual event. Trawick Pavilion offers basketball, sand volleyball, lake access for swimming, a children's playground, and more! 

Your payment includes vegan burgers & hot dogs and helps pay the fee for reserving the pavilion.

Bring a vegan dish. You’ll be prompted to sign up for a potluck item after you submit payment for the event.

$6/adult ($8 after 4/12) and $4/children 4-17 ($6 after 4/12), and children 3 and under get in free.
