The goal of this event is to introduce simple green living alternatives and solutions available in our local communities. Create a platform for specialists in green living and building education, informative talks, and presentations about green solutions for your home, DIY remedies and more.

Features include: Tiny houses, Tesla display, entertainment, Makerspace presentation and workshop center, green businesses, kids’ activities.

Rotate through all of our learning stations to learn what to put into and what to leave out of your compost pile at this family friendly comost fair.

Learn how to safely and effectively compost your food waste – so you’ll never feel guilty about throwing away those wilted salad bits. 

It’s a come-and-go event so spend as much (or as little) time as you like trying these fun activities:

·        Feeding and petting our worm friends

·        Helping to build an indoor worm habitat

This is a come and go event, so feel free to show up at any time. Tickets are $5 each, and only cash accepted.

Guided hike at Spring Creek Forest Preserve with Master Birder Reba Collins. We will look for our late fall residents. Dress for the weather. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring binoculars. If it has been raining, mud boots are appropriate.

Make fabric picture postcards with recycle artist VET. Participants will choose from a selection of postcard images and then create a fabric collage that reflects the same colors and style. All supplies provided. Everyone will complete a postcard-sized fabric collage. No experience needed. This is a free art workshop provided by Lochwood Branch Library Friends.
