Greater Fort Worth Sierra Club: Photo Tour of Camino de Santiago Trail in Spain - Fort Worth

Martha Ohlson of Allen and Dallas Sierra Club member will return to share her hiking stories and pictures from her 800 km walk on the Camino de Santiago trail in Spain. This trail is the pilgrimage of the Crusades that people from all over the world travel to Spain to complete. Martha has visited over 40 countries and is an expert photographer and storyteller to boot. 

Friends of Southwest Nature Preserve: Local Historical Trees - Arlington

Wes Culwell will discuss one of his pet projects – identifying and obtaining recognition for local historic trees in the Tarrant area. In addition, he will provide us with some of his observations about the trees that can be found at the Southwest Nature Preserve.

Wes Culwell is one of the few Board-Certified Master Arborists in Texas. He is an Aggie, a Landscape Horticulturist and owner of HortiCare involved in improving plant health care.

Texas Campaign for the Environment: Party for a Grape Cause - Dallas

Texas Campaign for the Environment’s North Texas office is celebrating the end of election season and its own progress in advancing recycling and sustainability at a house party.

Texas Campaign for the Environment started with a vision of reducing waste and pollution back in 1991 with offices in Dallas and Houston. That year, the group’s community organizers generated 70,000 petition signatures in Dallas, and 20,000 signatures in Arlington that helped convince the cities to start curbside recycling programs.

Arlington Conservation Council: Village Creek, Lake Arlington Watershed Protection Project - Arlington

Village Creek is on the 303(d) list of impaired water bodies and Lake Arlington is on the "Concerns" list. This Trinity River Authority Project is a 3-year voluntary effort to clean up the watershed that feeds Village Creek and our drinking water in Lake Arlington. Presenter: Aaron Hoff.
