Famous trailblazers ponder blooms at Dallas Arboretum exhibit

If you’re looking for a spring photo op, the Dallas Arboteum is ready for its closeup. This Saturday the venue’s popular annual floral festival, Dallas Blooms, kicks off. This year’s theme is The Artistry in Nature, featuring National Sculpture Society fellow Gary Lee Price's Great Contributors bronze statues.

Mudhen is the nickname for the American Coot, a migratory waterfowl that eats primarily plants. It is also the name of the new restaurant at the Dallas Farmers Market that relies heavily on veggies for its healthy fare. 

Solar panels power moon at Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

There’s an icy moon hanging in the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, thanks to a North Texas solar engineer. The solar-powered sculpture Tears of maria was installed at the end of January for an exhibit now on display by California-based artist Glenn Kaino.
