Electronic waste to be collected at Green Source DFW run

In addition, to collecting shoes for recycling, Commodity Recycling Solutions will be accepting electronic waste for recycling at the Green Source DFW Run for the Environment on May 21 at Bachman Lake Park. The items will be processed in their warehouse and sorted primarily into metals and plastics.

Texas is known for doing everything bigger and better. The sixth annual Earth Day Texas to be held April 22-24 at Fair Park in Dallas aims to prove that again, with help from big-name speakers in the environmental movement, including Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Karenna Gore.

Top biologists crawl Tandy Hills at biggest BioBlitz ever held in North Texas

This week, biology experts from across the state are scouring a prairie remnant in Fort Worth in an all-out effort to record every living species onsite. The BioBlitz is being held at Tandy Hills Natural Area. On Earth Day Friday and Saturday, the public is invited to bring their smart phones and laptops to join in the fun.

'Dear President Obama' documentary tours North Texas

Frack drilling is an ever more contentious issue in North Texas, and this week a documentary film of local people living on its frontlines, including the Barnett Shale, arrives here. Dear President Obama: The Clean Energy Revolution Is Now screens Wednesday, April 20, in Denton at University of North Texas and Thursday, April 21, in Fort Worth at The Museum of Modern Art, two stops on its cross-country tour.
