Surplus material from offices and events that would have gone to a landfill is being repurposed into much-needed classrooms materials, thanks to a new Fort Worth nonprofit.

Michael Cain, a prominent Dallas movie producer, is cofounding the EARTHxFilm festival with environmentalist Trammell S. Crow. The festival, part of Earth Day Texas, will feature films, workshops, and discussions on environmental issues, aiming to inspire change.

Artist paints mod mural in rural Collin County

A Texas artist recently created some interesting roadside art for residents and drivers through Collin County. 

Houston-born Nathan Randall Green was hired by Light Farms to create the abstract mural at its 1,070-acre master-planned community in Celina, Texas.

The community, developed by Republic Property Group, already includes progressive amenities such as hiking and biking trails, a greenbelt system, a fitness center and a bike-sharing program.

The Barefoot Baker in Navarro County, led by John Mureiko, transforms humble ingredients into bread masterpieces using eco-friendly practices. His family-run business delivers organic, non-GMO bread to Dallas. Mureiko emphasizes time and temperature in baking, offering breadmaking workshops while using a wood-fired oven and sustainable methods.
