Bicyclists and trail runners at Harry S. Moss Park in Dallas know the 284-acre wooded hideaway is an urban treasure. Now the park’s loyal fans and an army of eco-friendly high school students are organizing an event aimed at keeping the wild space from disappearing under a mountain of trash.

A North Texas church congregation association wants to help budding environmentalists continue the legacy of a pioneering Dallas environmentalist.

UNT prof revives publication on sustainability

Dr. Stan Ingman has revived the "Sustainable Communities Review," a semiannual journal founded in 1997. Focused on global sustainability issues, it includes contributions from professionals and students on diverse topics. The journal aims to inspire better community practices and will continue under new leadership.

Memnosyne Institute to host Oak Cliff Earth Day in 2018 

The Memnosyne Institute and Green Source DFW will host Oak Cliff Earth Day on April 15, 2018, at Lake Cliff Park, Dallas. The event includes environmental education, entertainment, and the Green Source DFW Run for the Environment. The festival returns with new organizers after a one-year hiatus.

Dallas County Community College District is gearing up to expand its sustainable footprint in 2018 with the hiring of Georgeann Moss as the new executive administrator for Sustainability Outreach and Initiative.

Enrollment open for DFW community organizing school

Downwinders at Risk's College of Constructive Hell-Raising in DFW, starting January 16, 2018, trains activists in social change strategies, historical context, and networking. Enrollment for 20 students is $200, with classes held bi-weekly at Meadows Conference Center, featuring veteran speakers and a focus on effective campaign initiation.

EARTHx growing exponentially with new name, new leader

EARTHx, formerly Earth Day Texas, grew from a Dallas event into the world's largest eco-expo. With a new name and CEO Steven Kornajcik, EARTHx aims to educate and provide solutions for environmental issues, hosting diverse initiatives like EARTHxFilm to attract both national and international attendees.
