Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area: Prairie Posse - Fort Worth

A small crew of volunteers is needed to clear the trails and other areas on a monthly basis, every first Saturday, from 8 am - Noon. Our new designation by the state as a Great Texas Wildlife Trail makes this work even more important. Sign up here: info@tandyhills.org.

Earth Day Texas: Film Screening - "Living with the Trinity" - Dallas

Living with the Trinity

6:00 PM – Reception & Check In
6:30 – Screening Begins
7:30 – Discussion with the filmmakers

The film Living with the Trinity is an incisive look at the history of the Trinity River and its relationship with the people who have settled along its banks. By diving into the past, this film is able to explain why the river remains a rather invisible resource despite the ambitious public works projects planned around it and the millions of Texans who rely on the body of water for life.

Women in the Environment: Fort Worth Nature Center Tour - Fort Worth

Managing our natural resources is a complex job. Not only does the Fort Worth Nature Center ensure abundant recreational opportunities and the infrastructure that goes along with that; they also apply an array of land management techniques to improve the health of the diverse habitats present on the Refuge; specifically targeting wildlife habitat to ensure connectivity and health of the system. Staff and volunteers of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge lend a helping hand as the designated stewards of the Refuge and the ecosystem services that it provides.
