Film Screening: 'Gasland Part II' with Director Josh Fox - Fort Worth

Free screening of Gasland Part II with appearance by the director Josh Fox.  Donations of any amount to help offset expenses are welcomed. Special appearances by Gasland stars Deborah Rogers, Calvin Tillman and Steven Lipsky.

In this explosive follow-up to his Oscar-nominated film Gasland, filmmaker Josh Fox uses his trademark dark humor to take a deeper, broader look at the dangers of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, the controversial method of extracting natural gas and oil, now occurring on a global level.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Event starts at 7 p.m. 

Meet and greet reps from local environmental organizations. See clean energy demos and plug-in vehicles on display. Popcorn and full bar available starting at 6 pm. Bar-style seating in theater

D-FW MoveOn: 'What's Wrong with T.P.P.?' A Trans-Pacific Partnership Teach-In - Grand Prairie

Join the Dallas and the Fort Worth MoveOn Councils for a presentation developed by Public Citizen on the issues relating to the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which critics describe as the ultimate "corporate power grab." Bob Cash, director of the Texas Fair Trade Coalition in Austin, will speak about attempts to "fast track" the TPP trade agreement and the negative impact it would have on jobs and the economy if passed. Dallas activist Gary Stuard will speak on the environmental impact.
