GLOBE at Night Star Party - Tarrant County

Star parties are being held at three locations in Tarrant County to bring attention to light pollution: The Tandy Hills Natural Area in Fort Worth (http://tandyhills.org), the Fort Worth Prairie Park (https://www.facebook.com/savetheprairie) and the Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake  (http://www.bjnc.org). Participants will observe the sky and upload their observations. The event is part of an international citizen scientist program (GlobeAtNight.org). Water: Ripple Effects - Dallas

SMU hosts Engineering and Humanity Week April 6-12. This year's theme is Water: Ripple Effects. The focus will be on the positive ripple effects people can inspire when confronted with current challenges. Opportunities to meet British adventurer and ecologist David de Rothschild and tour the PLASTIKI and hear hip-hop artist Emmanuel Jal, a humanitarian advocate for social justice and human rights.

Arlington Parks & Natural Spaces Community Meetings

The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of public meetings to get community input on Arlington's parks and natural spaces.Topics for discussion include: Recreation and Aquatic Centers, Natural Areas and the Environment, Trails and Greenways, Forestry and Beautification, Recreational Trends (dog parks, skateboard facilities, community gardens, etc.) and Park Development (athletic fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, etc.). Meetings to be held March 25, March 28, April 1, April 4 and April 15. See link for locations and times.
