FWLNA welcomes Zac Trahan, director of Texas Campaign for the Environment’s DFW office, to discuss local impacts of the recent Texas Legislature.

He will speak specifically on HB 40, legislation providing that the state has preemption authority over oil and gas regulations. The new law holds that current and proposed city and other  political subdivision ordinances that place regulations on oil and gas activities are only allowed if they are commercially reasonable.

Arlington Conservation Council: Mayoral Candidate Jeff Williams - Arlington

For years Jeff Williams has been involved in numerous area projects. Of special interest to ACC members are his roles in the River Legacy Foundation and the Johnson Creek Corridor Plan. In Arlington environmental issues rarely figure into the races, so we really don't know how green our candidates are. Here's a chance to learn about matters that concern all of us. In the interest of fairness, we also invited Mayor Bob Cluck, but he had a schedule conflict and won't be able to attend.
