Grand Prairie Farmers Market features "Tacos and Tejano" on Saturday, July 14, in addition to its usual fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, coffee, tea, tamales, jellies and relishes, grass-fed meats, homemade soaps, candles and more.

The Grand Prairie Farmers Market is open March 31, 2012 through December on Saturdays 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Market Square, 120 W. Main St., in downtown Grand Prairie. The Nasher's popular outdoor concert and movie series continues into the summer, and now offers FREE ADMISSION.

The event features paired concerts and movies in the Garden, picnic dining and snacks by Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck, and the opportunity to view works in the galleries and garden, including current exhibitions Ernesto Neto Cuddle on the Tight Rope and Sightings: Erick Swenson.  Pre-reserve picnic baskets at 214.242.5144 or enjoy on site salads, sandwiches, snacks and beverages available for purchase.

A 100% Solar Powered Music Festival will be held at Panther Island Pavilion in Trinity Uptown in Fort Worth on Saturday, June 16.
 
The Solar Powered Music Fest will feature 10 acts over the course of the afternoon and evening. The popular English ska band The English Beat, power pop new wave band The Romantics, DFW favorite Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights and more will perform. North Texas Renewable Energy Group members will provide TWO solar trailers to help power various aspects of this event. The main sound stage will be powered by Sustainable Waves of Austin, Texas, with TWO large semi-trucks of solar panels and related solar energy equipment in what is likely the largest 100% solar-powered event ever held in Texas.
 
Free parking is located on the lawn of the Trinity River banks near the entrance of the festival. Additional parking under the Henderson Street bridge.
 

Beer & Bones: Space Cadets - Dallas

Beer & Bones (Museum of Nature & Science Public Program)

  • Beer & Bones parties offer adults 18 and up a special nighttime look at the Museum of Nature & Science’s traveling exhibits, permanent collection and unique chances to see artifacts not usually available to the public. Each Beer & Bones party features special grown-up activities, a DJ to pump things up, light snacks and a cash bar to toast these very special occasions! Buffalo Boogie - 5k Walk/ Fun Run/ Competitive Run - Fort Worth

 
Buffalo Boogie is the major fundraising event for the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. It is a 1 mile/5K walk and fun-run for individuals, families, groups, schools, and pets plus a 5K competitive run. The route is shady, quiet, and baby-stroller friendly. The event in 2011 had over 1000 participants who enjoyed live country music, entertaining and educational games, face-painting, clowns, balloon artists, exhibits, and lots of good food.
