The Official KICK-OFF PARTY for the TEXAS STATE VEGGIE FAIR. please share with all your friends!  Food, music, raffles and silent auction.  And, after all, it is a fundraiser for MERCY FOR ANIMALS, whose work on behalf of Farm Animals is INCREDIBLE! $20 advance tickets available online; $25 at the door. 

Owl-O-Ween - Free 3rd Thursday at TRAC - Dallas

Come meet our owl friends and learn more about this amazing nocturnal creature. 

Join us for a FREE “Third Thursday” this October. Our theme this month is everything owls.  Owl art, live owls, owl prowl, owl pellets, even "Three Hoots" Owl wine! We’ll be open from 9a.m. – 9p.m.  Evening activies include something for everyone, kids and adults alike.

Winter SolstiCelebration - Dallas

The 2nd largest Winter Solstice event in the nation is growing! Winter SolstiCelebration has expanded to two nights after sell-out crowds for the past 3 years. Now in its 19th year, it has become a major holiday tradition for North Texas.

Interfaith event uses music, dance, theater, poetry, and even magic and circus arts, along with ritual and ceremony, to observe Winter Solstice. Casual and interactive, fun yet profound. Service starts at 7 pm, Yule Fest in lobby before and after. Bring flashlight for light ceremony and food pantry donations. Deaf signed. Childcare for $5. Presented by Earth Rhythms. 
 
Can we guide our evolving humanity? What are our choices for the future? Are we doomed to endless war, social injustice and environmental degradation? Or,  is it our epic destiny to live in peace and prosperity for all?

"Growing Green" Vocal Trash Concert - Cedar Hill

Come celebrate Cedar Hill “Growing Green” at the Music in the Park Concert.

The concert will feature the nationally acclaimed “Vocal Trash”.  This is a high energy band that puts the fun into recycling and uses instruments recycled from trash.

The admission is free.

Besides great music, there will be environmental booths and demonstrations, recycling information, the Adopt-A-Park/Adopt-A-Trail kick-off, food and opportunities to learn how Cedar Hill is “Growing Green”.

 On-site paper shredding will be available for $5.00 per box* from 6:00-7:00pm. Bring your documents in boxes, bags, whatever you like and there is no need to remove paper clips, staples, etc. Any quantity welcome! *A standard box 15"x12"x10" or Kitchen Trash Bag holds 35 lbs.

Bring your lawn chairs, come early, celebrate “Green” and enjoy the concert!

Lake Worth Monster Bash - Ft Worth

Forty-two years ago, Fort Worth was abuzz with reported sightings of the Lake Worth Monster - described as a hairy, scaly 7-foot-tall man-goat-beast. Though sightings of the creature haven't occurred regularly since the summer of 1969, the annual Lake Worth Monster Bash keeps alive the local legend and its habitat. The 2011 celebration is just around the corner and you will want to be a part of this fun-filled family event!

Birds' Christmas Tree - Ft Worth

Share your holiday gift giving with our feathered friends! Children of all ages are invited to make biodegradable bird treats ahead of time and bring them to the event to hang in the Garden’s Grove, providing food for wildlife and a little holiday cheer! This free event, complete with music and entertainment, is one of Fort Worth’s oldest holiday traditions.

Beer & Bones: Mad Scientist Mixer - Dallas

Play "mad scientist" after hours at the Museum of Nature & Science! In a special evening, adults-only Beer & Bones event, we'll celebrate the fun of science by playing with liquid nitrogen, test the chair of nails, create circuits out of PLAY-DOH, and see the amazing things that happen when you mix and match soap with dry ice! Along with the grown-up science experiments, guests can enjoy a DJ, light snacks, and a cash bar – plus special performances of our popular live shows, Superhero Science and Smash Hits of PhySci, - a cocktail of the best of our Electric Theater and Fire & Ice shows.
