Water-Wise Gardening Expo - Lewisville

Learn how to conserve water and protect the environment. Tour Upper Trinity’s Water-Wise Demonstration Garden, visit educational booths and get to know your sprinkler system. The garden and booths will be open 9 a.m. to noon. A “Get to Know Your Sprinkler System” class will be offered 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Registration for the class is required. Solar Car Challenge - Fort Worth

The Solar Car Challenge is designed to motivate students in science, engineering and alternative energy. Students learn how to design, engineer, build and race roadworthy solar cars. The 2013 event features a cross country trip from Dallas to LA beginning July 23. 

On Sunday and Monday, observe the teams as race judges perform final "scrutineering."

Identify yourself with the guard at the South Gate at the Texas Motor Speedway. The TMS entrance is off of SH 114 just west of I35W. Designated parking areas for guests will be identified in the infield area. 

GLOBE at Night Star Party - Tarrant County

Star parties are being held at three locations in Tarrant County to bring attention to light pollution: The Tandy Hills Natural Area in Fort Worth (http://tandyhills.org), the Fort Worth Prairie Park (https://www.facebook.com/savetheprairie) and the Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake  (http://www.bjnc.org). Participants will observe the sky and upload their observations. The event is part of an international citizen scientist program (GlobeAtNight.org).
