DADA Bike Swarm - Dallas

In honor of International Peace Day, several Bike Friendly groups will come together to ride in DADA’s Bike Swarm. 

Cyclists of all age levels and abilities are invited. Bike Friendly Oak Cliff, Bike Friendly Cedars, Bike Friendly Design District and Bike Friendly Deep Ellum will work together to cover the neighborhoods of Oak Cliff, Deep Ellum and the Design District. 

Bike Swarm is part of the DADA Fall Gallery Walk on Saturday, Sept. 21. Riders can start at any of the following stops: 

11 a.m. Meet at Oak Cliff Cultural Center, 223 West Jefferson Boulevard (for a ride from Oak Cliff to Deep Ellum for lunch at Burger Fest and a visit to area galleries)

2 p.m. Meet at Kettle Art Gallery, 2650B Main St. (ride from Deep Ellum to Design District for a visit to area galleries)

3 p.m. Meet at Meddlesome Moth, 1621 Oak Lawn Ave. (ride from here for tour of Design District); 5 p.m. riders will return to their home bases in Oak Cliff, Deep Ellum or the Cedars. 

Texas Discovery Gardens: Author Geyata Ajilvsgi - Dallas

Stroll through the butterfly house and gardens then go inside for a book signing and Q & A session with Ms. Ajilvsgi, who works as a butterfly and plant specialist in Austin. Considered among the nation’s top plant and butterfly experts, she is the author of “Wildflowers of Texas” and “Butterfly Gardening for Texas.”  Local butterfly expert Dale Clark will also be on hand to answer questions. Free.

City of Coppell: Farm Girls Organic Gardening Class - Coppell

Donelle Simmons, garden coach and co-host of The Farm Girls Organic Gardening radio show, will share secrets and techniques for fall organic  vegetable gardening. Donelle, along with her mother Marilyn, grow and feed 15 families a year through their educational CSA program, offer an organic gardening radio sho, and garden coaching advice to help others grow bountiful gardens. Free.
