North Texas Renewable Energy Group: BE-Wind Field Trip - Carrollton

The North Texas Renewable Energy Group is hosting a field trip to BE-Wind, a new wind turbine manufacturing company spawned from a 10-year-old aerospace manufacturing facility. The company formed last July after four years of testing, developing and engineering of their model "EOW2800" dual-vertical-axis wind turbine. BE-Wind incorporates their team's background of aerospace manufacturing, automotive engineering and prototype capabilities to build innovative advanced wind turbines.

Citizens Climate Lobby: Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse - Dallas

Citizens Climate Lobby-Dallas Chapter hosts Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) via conference call. Sen. Whitehouse goes to the floor of the Senate every week to speak about climate change and the urgent need for congressional action. DFW Clean Cities: Solar Powering Your Community - Arlington

This interactive workshop is geared to local governments interested in learning about solar development. It will provide actionable information on creating a local-level solar program, including overview of solar technology and why it's a viable option for our region; streamlining permitting processes; and innovative financing options. DFW Clean Cities: Film Screening: "Revenge of the Electric Car" - Arlington

DFW Clean Cities hosts this free screening of "Revenge of the Electric Car," followed by a panel discussion. Redbud Festival - Denton

Annual festival dating back to the 1930s, featuring local vendors selling trees and plants, gardening products, landscaping and home improvement items. In addition, there will be workshops, children's environmental activities, a recycled fashion show  and festival foods. Free.

Dallas Sierra Club: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy & Cedar Ridge Preserve- Dallas

Dallas Sierra Club meeting will feature speaker Linda King of the Dallas Zoo sharing her experience at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Africa. Solar Car Challenge - Fort Worth

The Solar Car Challenge is designed to motivate students in science, engineering and alternative energy. Students learn how to design, engineer, build and race roadworthy solar cars. The 2013 event features a cross country trip from Dallas to LA beginning July 23. 

On Sunday and Monday, observe the teams as race judges perform final "scrutineering."

Identify yourself with the guard at the South Gate at the Texas Motor Speedway. The TMS entrance is off of SH 114 just west of I35W. Designated parking areas for guests will be identified in the infield area.
