Film Screening: 'Gasland Part II' with Director Josh Fox - Dallas

Free screening of Gasland Part II with appearance by the director Josh Fox.  While admission is free to the public, donations of any amount to the historic Texas Theatre are welcomed. RSVP.

In this explosive follow-up to his Oscar-nominated film Gasland, filmmaker Josh Fox uses his trademark dark humor to take a deeper, broader look at the dangers of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, the controversial method of extracting natural gas and oil, now occurring on a global level.

Event is sponsored by Working Films Reel Power, Earthworks’ Oil & Gas Accountability Project, Texas Drought Project, North Central Texas Communities Alliance, FWCANDO and director Josh Fox.  

Local environmental groups co-sponsoring the event will be in the lobby following the film to answer questions.

Tour more than 30 local homes that feature solar power and other energy efficient features. Stops in Azle, Carrolton, Cedar HiIl, Dallas, Duncanville, Fairview, Farmers Branch, Flower Mound, Grand Prairie, Irving, Lucas, Murphy, Oak Leaf, Plano, Rowlett and Weatherford. Held in conjunction with the National Solar Home Tour.

Dallas City Council: Gas Drilling on Parkland Vote - Dallas

Mayor Rawlings and the Dallas City Council will be voting on the three Trinity East drilling sites that were denied twice by the City Plan Commission. The three special-use permits at issue involve Trinity River floodplain and parkland in northwest Dallas.
