Dallas City Council: Public Hearing on Gas Drilling Ordinance - Dallas

Dallas City Council hosts a public hearing on the gas drilling ordinance before its final vote on it. 

Environmental groups are urging residents to attend this hearing to ensure a strong ordinance is passed.

Texas Campaign for the Environment: Recycling Wish List Fundraiser - Dallas

Susybelle Gosslee, Advocacy Chair for the Dallas League of Women Voters, will be hosting a party at her home in North Dallas. Special appearance by Dallas' longest-serving City Council Member, Sandy Greyson, and a "Recycling Wish List" that guests will create to send in a letter to the North Pole. Come eat, drink and be merry! $25 minimum. Tickets include food from Celebration Restaurant and drinks from Salt Lick Cellars, Peticolas Brewery and Tito's Vodka. All proceeds will benefit Texas Campaign for the Environment! 

EPA Public Listening Session: Reducing Carbon at Existing Plants

EPA will hold 11 public listening sessions across the country to solicit ideas and input from the public and stakeholders about the best Clean Air Act approaches to reducing carbon pollution from existing power plants. 

The feedback from these 11 public listening sessions will play an important role in helping EPA develop smart, cost-effective guidelines that reflect the latest and best information available. 

Registration is highly encouraged due to large expected turn outs. Register.

North Texas Renewable Energy Group: What Cities are Doing to Support Environmental Sustainability - Irving

The presenter will be Fran Witte, Sr. Community Outreach Coordinator, city of Irving, specializing in environmental education and program development.

Ms. Witte is the Secretary for Women in the Environment and is a member of the North Texas Corporate Recycling Association (NTCRA), the Metroplex Recycling Coordinators Roundtable, North American Association for Environmental Education, National Community Gardening Association, TOFGA (Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) and the NTREG Yahoo Group. Ms. Witte is also member of the Irving's Greater Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Green Business Council and serves as a city of Irving Radiological ("RAD") team member.
