Arlington Conservation Council: New York Avenue Blackland Prairie Workday - Arlington

We’ll clear trees and small brush, but also collect seed for onsite distribution and monitoring wildlife.  

Wear sturdy soled shoes/boots and long pants; consider sunscreen, bugspray, etc.  Bring gloves, loppers and hand saws if you have them.  Please bring your own water, but refills will be provided.
We’ll work up an appetite, so plan to meet for lunch afterwards. RSVP: prairie@acctexas.org

Greenbelt Alliance of Denton Cty: GreenFest on the Greenbelt - Denton

Festival featuring outdoor activities, live music and food vendors. Attendees can test their skills at archery, climbing, kayaking, biking, and geo-caching; view demonstrations by historians and craftsmen of the Cross Timbers eco-region; or take a carriage ride down the Greenbelt Trail. Kid's activities include birds of prey and reptile exhibits, pony rides, Backyard Bass competition and an inflatable obstacle course and slide. Organized by the Greenbelt Alliance of Denton County, together with Texas Parks and Wildlife, the city of Denton, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
