Join us on a journey to the far reaching edges of the planet as we watch intrepid cyclists explore the rugged open road, and all the trials, tribulations and triumphs that come with it.
Dallas Library: Filmed by Bike - Dallas
Filmed by Bike is a touring film festival that features the world’s best bike movies. We will be showing the Bike Love collection. A broad mix of bike tales dances across the screen as you immerse yourself in the world of cycling. This year’s collection includes a stunning collection of fun, lighthearted films, as well as pieces that showcase how bikes are changing lives. These tales highlight stories from all over the globe.
Denton County Transportation Authority: Free Rides on Bike to Work Day - Lewisville
Bike to Work Day is an annual, nation-wide event that encourages people to try biking as a part of their commute. The Denton County Transportation Authority is joining the League of American Bicyclists and many organizations across the country in celebrating Bike to Work Day by offering free rides all day to passengers who bring their bikes on board on Friday, May 18.

City of Denton: Bicycle to Recycle - Denton
Celebrate America Recycles Day with a family bike ride from the Courthouse on the Square to ECO-W.E.R.C.S. Resource Recovery Park and back again. This leisurely bike ride takes you along the rail trail, and will show you where the recycling is processed in Denton.
9:00 a.m.: Meet at the Courthouse on the Square; Quick bike repair and bike safety
9:30 a.m.: Ride departs for the Pratt Recycling Facility
10:00 a.m.: Tour of the recycling facility
11:00 a.m.: Depart back to the square
UTA Institute for Sustainability and Global Impact: Bike Share Launch - Arlington
Maverick students will be able to cruise to classes when The University of Texas at Arlington’s Institute for Sustainability and Global Impact launches a new bike-sharing program. UTA students, faculty and staff can join the bike-share program for a $25 annual fee. Bikes are then free for the first two hours of use and $1 for every hour after.
Denton County Transportation Authority: Denton County Bike Challenge
The Denton County Transportation Authority is partnering with the North Central Texas Council of Governments to host the 2017 Bike Everywhere Challenge to encourage people to ride their bike instead of driving their car during the month of May which is National Bike Month. This free challenge is open to all Denton County residents to enjoy the benefits of biking while also getting a chance to win cool prizes.
Trinity Commons Foundation & City of Dallas: All Out Trinity Festival - Dallas
With one of a kind events including the 13th annual Trinity River Levee Run, the largest outdoor yoga class in Texas (Yoga on the Bridge), and the largest urban gravel bike ride in the U.S. (Gravelthon! Dallas). All Out Trinity attracts a broad group of participants and spectators, from elite athletes to fun-loving families. People from all ages and walks of life participate in this annual event.
The Great Seed Bomb: Fort Worth
The Great Seed Bomb is a 15k fun bike ride benefiting bees, monarch and other pollinators. It's a grassroots for the grasslands movement!
During the ride, seed balls – made of clay, organic compost and native, non-GMO milkweed and wildflower seed – are launched from bikes by our riders. A portion of the money raised will be donated to the Native Prairies Association of Texas, a habitat restoration nonprofit, to keep the work going.
