It's garden tour time in North Texas

Spring in North Texas marks garden tour time, showcasing diverse landscaping from water-intensive to xeriscaping, inspiring local home gardening. Highlighted tours include Denton County Master Gardener's, Dallas's White Rock East, Fort Worth's Hidden Gardens, and Celina's Country Garden. A rugged option is the Texas Prairies Bus Tour in Central Texas.

DFW wins nationwide iNaturalist Challenge 

In a surprising victory, DFW citizen scientists won the nationwide iNaturalist Challenge, surpassing San Francisco. Over 500 North Texans made 24,000 observations, with Sam Kieschnick leading the effort and highlighting the importance of these records in showcasing local biodiversity. The competition spurred enthusiasm and highlighted species like the showy pink primrose.

In Dallas, about 300 people marched from Dealey Plaza to the EPA office during the North Texas People's Climate March, coinciding with President Trump's 100th day in office. This event, organized by the new Coalition for Environmental Justice - North Texas and including various partners, marked the coalition's first local activism effort.
