Dallas activists Corey Troiani and Olinka Green traveled to Washington D.C. to urge EPA action on the Lane Plating Superfund Site. The site, contaminated with toxic metals, faces cleanup delays. Activists seek improved communication and prompt EPA action, as the responsible company is defunct.

'Green Army' commander to speak in Dallas

Lt. General Russel L. Honoré, renowned for his leadership post-Hurricane Katrina, will visit Dallas on Feb. 13-15 to address environmental justice issues. Hosted by the Dallas Environmental Justice Network, Honoré will engage with local leaders, tour affected neighborhoods, and speak publicly.

Green Source DFW honored at Peacemaker Awards

Green Source DFW received the Media Accountability Award at the Peacemaker Awards in Dallas, recognizing its role in promoting the North Texas green movement. Founded by Phillip Shinoda under the Memnosyne Institute, the site connects and informs the environmental community through news, events, and advocacy.

Downwinders conference aims to tone up DFW activists

The Downwinders at Risk hosts its annual Root and Branch Conference in Dallas from Dec. 5-8, focusing on improving advocacy skills and addressing diversity issues in environmental justice. Highlights include a panel on race and activism, an electric bus tour, and an all-day University of Change.
