BRIT: First Saturday - Fort Worth

BRIT is open to the public on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for public tours (beginning at 10:30 a.m.), exhibits, and self-guided tours of its LEED Platinum building. In addition, each First Saturday features a unique selection of programs and entertainment focused around a particular theme. Free.

Nov. 2 - Stewardship Day

Learn first-hand how to “walk the walk” of the BRIT mission statement: conserving our natural heritage by deepening our knowledge of the plant world and understanding the value that plants bring to life.

Full schedule:

9 am - 1 pm: 
The Pod & the Braided Path Work Party
Participants in this hands-on work-party will be working outside with BRIT staff  collecting and entering data about the Pod and the Braided Path.

10 am - 1 pm:
Vine and Twine Work Party
Learn everything you ever wanted to know about vines and their maintenance in this hands on work-party.  You will be working with BRIT staff tending the vines on our living wall and leaving behind your thoughts and observations about the vines and the work you performed in an online journal. 

10 am - 2 pm:
Seed Collection Workshop
Working with BRIT staff, you will learn to identify collect and distribute seeds from native plants to enhance your own landscape. 

10 am - 2 pm:
Educational Booths & Activities
Includes a special hands-on seed paper making workshop and fun, interactive displays.

10:30 am:
Bella's Story Time, featuring Up, Down, and Around by Katherine Ayer

10:30 am:
Free public tour of the BRIT Campus

11 am - 1 pm:
Grapes of Wrath Workshop
BRIT’s Director of Research, Will McClatchey, will be presenting the Grapes of Wrath Workshop where participants will get a crash course in viticulture

11:30 am:
Free public tour of the BRIT Campus

12:30 pm: Plant Walk

1 pm: 
"Horses on the Prairie" presentation by Rob Denkhaus
