North Texas Renewable Energy Group August Meeting
Presenter: Dan Lepinski, Senior Engineer, Exeltech.
Where: REI Sports, 4515 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, Texas.
REI is on the westbound access road on the north side of I-635. We meet upstairs. Park at REI, go in the main entrance, and up the stairs. Turn to the left and follow the aisle all the way to the meeting rooms. There is also an elevator for anyone who may require it.

Dan's job as a solar energy design engineer lets him travel extensively throughout many foreign countries, especially in Asia. He will share some of his extensive photo collection of renewable energy in use around the world. He will also highlight various environmental issues, and what's being done to address the problems. After all, no matter where you live, we all share the same air and water.
About our Presenter
Dan has a 39 year commitment to renewable solar energy, conservation and building a sustainable future. He now serves as Senior Engineer for Fort Worth-based Exeltech designing equipment to connect solar electricity to the utility grid.
 
He is a respected expert and advocate for all things renewable and sustainable. He's been a member of the technical editing staff for Home Power Magazine, Co-host on nationally syndicated Mother Earth News Radio, and much more. In his "spare time" he designed and built the Solar Shuttle. The Shuttle showcases two full-size fully independent portable solar electric systems capable of powering a modest energy efficient home. The Shuttle provides power for various environmental event sound stages, emergency communications, and other needs.
 
Dan lived eight years off–grid (no commercial utility power) with wind and solar power, and has spent the last eight years in a grid-connected home with solar electric and solar hot water. Dan is a friend and advisor of the North Texas Renewable Energy Group.
