Recycling Education for Businesses Workshop - Grand Prairie

Description: Registration is required as seating is limited. NCTCOG will partner with the North Texas Corporate Recycling Association (NTCRA) for their annual celebration of North Texas environmental leaders and their contributions toward a more sustainable environment in the North Texas region.

The workshop will be presented by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) formerly known as R.W. Beck and the purpose of the workshop is to help businesses and governments better understand the reasons for recycling and operational issues (e.g. contamination). Modules to be addressed in the workshop include:

Reasons to recycle: Environmental results, decrease the need for raw materials, energy savings
Avoiding contamination: Representatives from local MRFs will be invited to participate on a panel discussion
Closing the loop: businesses can also impact the industry through their purchasing requirements (recycling content), on-site recycling for staff, etc.
