Hike part of the Oak Motte Trail with Nature Center Director Suzanne Tuttle to discover the late spring wildflowers of the Ft Worth prairie and wildlife that call this prairie remnant home. $5 plus admission, free/members.

Explore, enjoy, and protect the planet at environmental club's monthly meeting. Snacks and refreshments then presentation, issue booths, and interaction with club members and leaders.

Independent canoeing and kayaking on the quiet waters around Greer Island. Canoes/kayaks, paddles and lifejackets provided. Children must be 5 years or older and accompanied by an adult. First come, first served. Meet at Greer Island. $5 plus admission, $3/members plus admission.

An evening benefitting Trinity River Audubon Ctr. $50/ticket, $250-$5,000/sponsorship.

Hundreds of butterflies will be released in an 800-square foot mesh tent conservatory, lined with flowering plants and green foliage, water fountains and butterfly feeders. Make 100s of friends instantly by walking through the exhibit with a cotton swab soaked in Gatorade.
Bring a camera. $6/adult, $3/child.

Celebrate spring and the opening of the zoo's new bird show, SOAR, A Festival of Flight, with live entertainment, activities for the kids, bounce houses, and more. $15/adults, $12/children 3-11, free/children 2 and under.

Earth Day Dallas hopes to catalyze a "green" movement in North Texas by staging a two-day event on April 22nd and 23rd over several city blocks in the Dallas Arts District.  We anticipate 500 civic, corporate and non-profit participants engaged in an event that will be the biggest and best Earth Day celebration in this part of the United States.  Sponsors currently include:

This will be the seminal event in an ongoing movement to showcase green business and civic efforts that improve North Texas and the lives of North Texans.  Events will focus on entertaining, inspiring and educating attendees with various ways to think, work and live green by showcasing emerging green technology and providing eco-friendly activities.

    * Up to 50,000 visitors in the downtown Arts District (accessible by DART).

The immediate need to invest in new and ongoing protection and restoration efforts in the gulf is clear.

Join Nature Center Director Suzanne Tuttle and volunteers from the Cross Timbers Master Naturalist chapter for a walk through the wildflowers during the annual Prairie Fest at beautiful Tandy Hills Natural Area in east Fort Worth. Each year the park, which is a satellite area managed by the Nature Center staff, is home to one of the most spectacular wildflower displays in our area. Entrance to the festival is at the corner of Tandy and View Streets; wildflower walks begin on demand from the Nature Center’s booth. FREE.

We invite preschoolers, ages 3 - 5 and their adult companions to join us in discovering the exciting world of nature. In April, we will be learning about honeybees. Pre-registration required. $10 PER CHILD (includes admission fee)/MEMBERS $5.
