Join the Fort Worth Zoo for Zoo Careers Camp!

Zoo Careers Camp is designed for high school students entering ninth through 12th grades who are interested in zoological sciences, wildlife conservation and animal-related careers. During this five-day resident camp, participants will learn about animal care, husbandry, maintenance and training and accompany animal staff on daily schedules, participate in animal care activities and attend presentations given by the Zoo staff. Zoo Careers Camp is offered in three sessions: June 12 - 17, July 17 - 22 and July 31-5. Each session is $750 for non-members and $700 for members, and includes housing, all meals, activities, camp materials and a T-shirt.

Campers must be entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2011 to be eligible.

Zoo Careers Camp sessions are first-come, first served.

Summer Zoo Camp offers unique activities for children ages 3 to sixth grade to explore wildlife inside the Zoo and in the classroom. Summer Zoo Camp sessions are offered all summer from June 13 to August 19 (excluding the week of July 4). Camps run Monday through Friday and include a Summer Zoo Camp T-shirt, guided Zoo tours, Wild Wonders animal presentations, keeper chats, snacks, craft activities and more. Summer Zoo Camp is offered in morning and afternoon sessions for children ages 3 to second grade and all-day sessions for third through sixth graders.

Prices listed are for Zoo members/non-Zoo members.

Students will spend a considerable time outside; make sure your child has walking shoes and is dressed every day for the elements.

Refunds will be issued if requested 14 days prior to start of camp; within 14 days, students can be transferred to an available class.

Bring the whole family! Each family in attendance will receive an adoption package of their favorite animal. Adult tickets are $65, children's tickets (17 and younger) are $25. Children 2 and younger are free.

The Mother's Day Brunch has two seatings: 9 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

Since 1993, National Trails Day has inspired thousands of individuals and community groups to take part in activities that promote healthy living and mental well being, protect green spaces, educate the community on the importance of trails and instill excitement for the outdoors.

On Saturday, June 4, the City of Arlington, in conjunction with Keep Arlington Beautiful, will join in the nationwide effort to celebrate National Trails Day by hosting various park cleanup events.

The theme for National Trails Day 2011, Made with All Natural Ingredients, encourages all Americans to get outside and get active. "Dedicated volunteers, outdoor enthusiasts, trail lovers, and those new to the outdoors are truly the key ingredients to National Trails Day.

Park clean-ups will take place on June 4 from 9am to 12pm at the following city parks: Bowman Branch Linear Park Marrow Bone Spring Lynn Creek Linear Park River Legacy Parks Fish Creek Linear Park OS Gray Natural Area Bob Findlay Linear Park OW Fannin Natural Area Sublett Creek Linear Park Julia Burgen Park Parkway Central Park

REI will partner with Groundwork Dallas in building a campsite and trail maintenance at the Trinity River Audubon Center in the Trinity Forest. Bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen, and work gloves, and lots of enthusiasm! For the younger volunteers they can make seed balls to help with the prairie restoration. A free lunch will be provided for the volunteers and you can stay Texas Turtle-Palooza and enjoy the museum and trails of the Trinity River Audubon Center.
