Travel back in time when Plano was covered in water. Explore Rowlett Creek for fossils and other interesting things and discover your place in history! 

Please have your child bring a water bottle and use the bath room prior to attending this class. The Parks and Recreation Staff will no longer have access to the building. Parents will have to remain outside or drop off your child and return to pick them up. Thank you for your understanding.

We will meet under the big pavilion at the west side of the parking lot. Wear clothing and shoes that are suitable for hiking. You can also bring a flashlight.

You don't have to leave town to enjoy the fun and excitement of family camping! Join Plano Parks and Recreation staff at Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve for a night of family camping. Please feel free to bring a picnic dinner. A light breakfast will be served on Saturday morning. A minimal number of tents will be provided by the Parks and Recreation Department. Everyone must register. NO PETS ALLOWED! Ages 3 and up.

You will need to have your own tent and sleeping bags. Please call 972-769-4350 to reserve a tent if you need to borrow one. Feel free to bring a picnic dinner to this event. Parks and Recreation staff will be available to assist at this event. Camp-Out may be cancelled by staff member due to weather conditions.

Join Plano Parks and Recreation on to trip to Dino World Park in Glen Rose. You will take a trek on the dinosaur walking trail where you will be able to spot over 100 life-size dinosaurs. You can also tour the museum where you can see everything from dinosaur eggs to raptor claws. You will need to bring a sack lunch. Staff will provide drinks. Ages 5 and up. If your child is 7 years old or younger, you MUST provide a child safety seat as required by state law. Everyone 17 years old or younger MUST be accompanied by a registered adult.
