City of Dallas: Healthcare Sustainable Best Practices for Waste Diversion - Dallas

The goal of the event is to provide education, examples of waste diversion best practices and networking opportunities for anyone that works in or with the healthcare industry and is involved with waste diversion, sustainability, asset management or purchasing.

Objectives are to share:

·          City of Dallas Zero Waste Plan goals and how those goals will impact how hospital’s will manage their waste streams

Greater Fort Worth Sierra Club: Botanical Research Institute of Texas Tour - Fort Worth

Learn about BRIT’s research programs, herbarium, libraries, educational programs and sustainable building. BRIT is green from the ground up; learn how and why as you tour BRIT's amazing LEED platinum home. The Fort Worth Sierra Club will be joining a public tour that is given the first Saturday of each month. Must RSVP before July 1. RSVPs will be closed after that date. Meet at the main entrance. Botanical Research Institute of Texas: Prairie Day - Fort Worth

The family-friendly, annual festival of arts and crafts features flight demonstrations of majestic wild birds and live music from Texas musicians. Families will learn about hardy Texas native plants that grow on the prairie. Children will learn how to build a bug house or paint using leaves, and everyone will learn about the cultural and natural history that defines our region through activities and games for the whole family.
