NTCRA & STAR: Materials Recovery Facility Tour - Dallas

Join the North Texas Corporate Recycling Association, NTCRA, and the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling - North Texas, STAR-NT, for this informative tour of the new FCC Environmental Services materials recovery facility, or MRF ("murph") at the McCommas Bluff Landfill.

The new facility boasts state-of-the-art technology to process and return to the market all recyclable materials from the city of Dallas as well as the cities of Garland, Mesquite, and University Park.

Snappy Salads: E-Waste Recycling Roundup - DFW locations

Snappy Salads, the first eco-friendly salad restaurant in Dallas, will hold an electronic recycling roundup on Earth Day as a free service to the public.

Anything with an on/off switch, including computers, cell phones, televisions, and other electronic items, may be dropped off at the following Snappy Salads’ locations at the times listed:

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. -

Sustainability Management Assocation: The Journey to Zero Waste at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company - Webinar

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s Sustainability Manager, Cheri Chastain, will share how Sierra Nevada has been able to divert 99.8 percent of their total solid waste from landfill. Cheri will share the brewery’s 10-year journey to bring the company to zero waste, the struggles and challenges that have come with that journey, and the successes that led to being the first Platinum Zero Waste facility recognized by the U.S. Zero Waste Business Council. Texas Campaign for the Environment: Party for a Grape Cause - Dallas

Texas Campaign for the Environment’s North Texas office is celebrating the end of election season and its own progress in advancing recycling and sustainability at a house party.

Texas Campaign for the Environment started with a vision of reducing waste and pollution back in 1991 with offices in Dallas and Houston. That year, the group’s community organizers generated 70,000 petition signatures in Dallas, and 20,000 signatures in Arlington that helped convince the cities to start curbside recycling programs.
