Mother's Day Brunch at the Ft Worth Zoo

A little motherly advice? The Mother's Day brunch has limited availability and is sure to sell out quickly, so don't wait to order.

Bring the whole family! Each family in attendance will receive an adoption package of their favorite animal. Adult tickets are $65, children's tickets (17 and younger) are $25. Children 2 and younger are free.

The Mother's Day Brunch has two seatings: 9 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.

Keep Arlington Beautiful - National Trails Day Celebration

Since 1993, National Trails Day has inspired thousands of individuals and community groups to take part in activities that promote healthy living and mental well being, protect green spaces, educate the community on the importance of trails and instill excitement for the outdoors.

On Saturday, June 4, the City of Arlington, in conjunction with Keep Arlington Beautiful, will join in the nationwide effort to celebrate National Trails Day by hosting various park cleanup events.

The theme for National Trails Day 2011, Made with All Natural Ingredients, encourages all Americans to get outside and get active. "Dedicated volunteers, outdoor enthusiasts, trail lovers, and those new to the outdoors are truly the key ingredients to National Trails Day.

Park clean-ups will take place on June 4 from 9am to 12pm at the following city parks: Bowman Branch Linear Park Marrow Bone Spring Lynn Creek Linear Park River Legacy Parks Fish Creek Linear Park OS Gray Natural Area Bob Findlay Linear Park OW Fannin Natural Area Sublett Creek Linear Park Julia Burgen Park Parkway Central Park

National Trails Day at Trinity River Audubon - Dallas

REI will partner with Groundwork Dallas in building a campsite and trail maintenance at the Trinity River Audubon Center in the Trinity Forest. Bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen, and work gloves, and lots of enthusiasm! For the younger volunteers they can make seed balls to help with the prairie restoration. A free lunch will be provided for the volunteers and you can stay Texas Turtle-Palooza and enjoy the museum and trails of the Trinity River Audubon Center.

National Trails Day - Ft Worth

June 4

9 a.m. - 4 :00 p.m.

National Trails Day®: The first Saturday of June is always American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day. Celebrate National Trails Day by beginning your day with Natural Guard working on the trails from 9 a.m. - Noon or a Naturalist-led Nature Hike at 10 a.m. - Noon.

Take a break from work and hiking and join us as we discuss the Conservation Civilian Corps (CCC) contribution to the Nature Center from 1 - 1:30 p.m; then join us as we hike around Canyon Ridge Trail as we enjoy the scenery and see the very structures the CCC built during their time at the Nature Center.

$5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS FREE (Naturalist-led Nature Hike). Natural Guard (FREE). CCC Talk/Canyon Ridge Hike (Maximum 15) $5 (with paid admission)/MEMBERS & WORKERS FREE.

Summer Natural History Adventures - Ft Worth

 

The Fort Worth Nature Center is proud to offer the 2011 Summer Natural History Adventures.  

We offer exciting and educational day camps for children entering Kindergarten up to those entering the 8th grade.  One day a week, each age group will explore a different natural history theme such as reptiles, insects, butterflies and more!  The camps take place during June and July. 

"A Culture of Communication" - Dallas

Sat, May 14 - “A Culture of Cooperation” by Permaculture instructor and consultant Dick Pierce. Free class features Community, Collaboration, Caring, Co-mingling, Co-Housing, EcoVillages, Kinship – “More Cooperation, [maybe] Less Competition?” Talk to other groups while here.
