9 am - 11 am: Fall Plant Safari
This pre-sale tour led by the man behind the plants, Director of Horticulture Randy Johnson, shows you how to incorporate native and adapted plants into your landscape. The safari starts at the front of the gardens. Buy your admission before the tour and save time at the line! The lobby opens at 8:45 am for admission sales. Bring exact change for quicker entry. Credit cards and checks will also be accepted. Plant Safari attendees will enter the side gates into the plant sale area at 10 am, at the same time the main plant sale gates open. $15; $10 members.

11 am - 2 pm: Fall Plant Sale
Our fall sale gets bigger and better each year! While we don't offer a preview sale for members, you still receive 10 percent off, so remember to renew your membership! The fall sale offers many of the wonderful host and nectar plants from our spring sale, as well as hard-to-find native trees and shrubs.

Join a growing trend and learn how to create a bountiful organic community or backyard vegetable garden with our Director of Horticulture, Randy Johnson. We cover hands on fall gardening topics in this class. Minimum of 10 participants required to make. Advance registration required. $25; $20 for TDG Members.

Solar Power International (SPI) is North America's largest, most comprehensive solar power trade show and conference. This annual, business-to-business event was the first of its kind in North America and grows bigger and better every year.

Nearly 24,000 professionals from 125+ countries attend. With one out of five attendees coming from outside the United States, SPI is truly a global event.

In 2011, over 1,200 companies from all vertical markets in the solar power spectrum will exhibit in a space of more than 1 million gross square feet.

Growing New Markets

SPI is presented by two non-profit organizations, SEIA and SEPA, whose mission is to advance and support the solar power industry and to promote the growth of U.S. solar markets. Fulfilling this commitment, SPI will take place outside of California for the first time in 2011. In Dallas, Texas, show participants will gain exposure to new products, service providers and professionals from a new horizon of the industry.

Who Attends:

SES 21 USA is going to host an introductory solar training course conducted by Imagine Solar, Texas first and best-known training institute. This training is geared towards electrical contractors and industry-related professionals. The course starts out with learning about the solar industry and how you can jump on the train of USA's fastest growing industry.

We will learn to construct a beautiful, natural, earth friendly, energy efficient building!  Foundation, walls, windows, framing, and roof construction will be taught. We will be teaching the Nebraska Style of Straw bale building, which is also termed "Load bearing".  Natural plasters will also be covered for the interior while the exterior will be Stuccoed.  Sheet Rock Wall Interface will also be demonstrated. 

This “Green” Building method will provide the Camp with an ‘Arts and Crafts” structure, to be used for both storage and a work area.

Some of the problem invasive plants of the Arlington area may be in your own backyard. Marilyn Sallee, DFW Regional Coordinator for the Invaders of Texas Program, will help us explore the situation and develop a plan of action during this adult workshop at River Legacy Living Science Center. Let Joanne Durbin, Dallas County Master Gardener, show you how to transform a piece of nature into a beautiful decoration for your garden. Using leaves from the garden and a few simple ingredients, Joanne will show you how to create your own concrete casting. Your unique finished work of art will show the beauty of Mother Nature’s work through the veins, leaf texture and shape.
