Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area: Brush Bash - Fort Worth

One day a year, Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area with help from the City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Dept. hosts a Brush Bash to clear sections of the prairie of invasive and unwanted trees, brush and trash. 

The brush has been cut and will be ready for volunteers to drag to waiting trucks for delivery to a composting facility. Your help really makes a difference! Manly Men and Wild Women welcome.

One day a year, Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area with help from the City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services Dept. hosts a Brush Bash to clear sections of the prairie of invasive and unwanted trees, brush and trash. 

The brush has been cut and will be ready for volunteers to drag to waiting trucks for delivery to a composting facility. Your help really makes a difference! Manly Men and Wild Women welcome.

UPDATE: Due to a very strong chance of rain this Saturday, Brush Bash and the Recycling Event have been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7.

Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area: Prairie Restoration - Fort Worth

Come out and help the city of Fort Worth remove and clear unwanted species at Tandy HIlls. This is a Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area sponsored event, so it's sure to be enjoyable and rewarding. FWNPAT will be acting as partners to assist in the efforts. 

City workers will be cutting and removing invasive trees and shrubs, and applying herbicide. Work days: Thursdays and Fridays, Jan. 15 - 16, Jan. 22 - 23 and Jan. 29 - 30. 

The city will supply any tools, equipment, water and safety glasses for the volunteers. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and any snacks they might want. Please wear closed toed shoes or boots with long pants and preferably a long-sleeved shirt. The fun will begin between 8:15 and 8:30, but you can arrive anytime you're able and check in at the play area with Juan or Miguel. There are no restrooms at the site, so please take a "break" before you arrive.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden: B.G. Squirrel Run & Health Fair - Fort Worth

The 8th Squirrel Run and Health Fair will raise money to keep and maintain the beauty of the garden and provide education programs for families and children that visit the garden.

Dress as your favorite woodland creature, prizes for favorite outfits will be passed out at water stations and the grand prize for best woodland themed race outfit will be awarded after the race.  

10K Run/Walk will start at 8 a.m.
5K Run/Walk at 8:15 a.m.
Family Fun Maze will begin at 9 a.m.

The 10K will be $35 and $45 on race day
The 5k will be $35 and $45 on race day
The Kids Maze is $8 and $13 on race day

This is a chipped timed event.
