Eden's Organic Garden Center: Third Annual Chili Cook-Off - Balch Springs

For chefs and non-chefs alike. No entry fee. You may enter more than one recipe. RSVP so we know how many entrants to expect (for time) and we'll see you the 29th!  

What a better use for leftover turkey? Well, maybe. 

Beans - no beans - we're not judging, well, yes we are. 

Vegetarian, vegan, traditional or out of this world – it's the taste we're looking for! (please have your list of ingredients on hand for potential food allergy purposes)

5th Saturdays are potluck parties at the farm along with our regular, and often expanded, farmer's market. 

Bring the kids, a fork and/or spoon and join us down on the farm for Market Day, a farm tour via hayride (weather permitting) and chili!

City of Irving: Soil Prep for the Spring Garden - Irving

One of the first steps to a great garden is knowing the quality of the soil in which the plants will be growing. Irving has a variety of soils, from sandy loam to clay. Most soils require amending to accommodate a vegetable garden and even a garden flourishing with our most favorite native blooms. This class will help students know what steps to take to determine their soil type, how to garden in a variety of soil conditions and how to remediate poor soil in preparation for the spring planting season. Native Prairies Association of Texas Fort Worth Chapter - Native Pollinators & Other Prairie Helpers - Fort Worth

Prairie enthusiasts, master naturalists, bird watchers, landowners, educators and anyone else interested in prairies is welcome. 

Troy Mullens as the guest speaker. If you've ever tried to identify an insect on Google, you've probably run into Troy's photographs. This will be an informative meeting for landowners, gardeners and prairie enthusiasts. Refreshments will be served at 6:30pm and the meeting will begin at 7pm.
