Attendees will learn about the fundamental principles of organic gardening vs. chemical practices, as well as what types of products to substitute and how and when to apply them. We'll discuss how to take advantage of companion planting techniques and beneficial insects to control problems such as black spot on roses and grubs in your lawn. The class will also cover topics such as which products are safe to use on your edibles, how to protect pollinators, and how to irrigate more efficiently. Class held at both locations. Free.
Convert your spray heads and watch your sprinkler system save you money from this hands-on drip conversion class. You will learn how to install drip irrigation tubing from your faucet or how to convert an existing zone to drip. Drip irrigation for foundation watering will also be covered. The indoor class will be held at the Biodiversity Education Center, where an extensive rain garden is planted that utilizes drip methods.
