City of Irving: Square Foot Gardening - Irving

The square-foot gardening concept is simple: Build a raised bed, divide the space into sections of 1 square foot each and then plant vegetables and/or flowers in just the amount of space they need.

The advantages of this system include reduced workload, less watering, easy weeding and access to your crops.

The speaker, Julie Whitis, a certified square-foot gardening instructor, will demonstrate how to construct a “square-foot garden,” as well as the best plants to use and advantages and disadvantages to this method. Free.
