Texas Historic Tree Coalition: Marker Trees from a Texas Surveyor’s View - Dallas

Bill Coleman will speak on  Marker Trees from a Texas Surveyor’s View.  He will explain how to look for clues that hint at the history of a landscape and address the ways trees are used as markers, not just by American Indians but also as references to boundary corners throughout the settlement and construction of our current civil infrastructure. Bill is a Professional Land Surveyor and a Geographic Information Systems Professional.

Dallas Arboretum: Dallas Blooms: The Artistry in Nature - Dallas

Annual spring festival featuring National Sculpture Society fellow Gary Lee Price's Great Contributors bronze statues set among 500,000 spring-blooming bulbs in the garden including tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, pansies, violas, poppies along with other spring-blooming annuals and perennials.

$15 for adults, $12 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for children 3-12 and free for children two and under. 

Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area: Trout Lily Walk - Fort Worth

Small is beautiful at Tandy Hills in late February to early March when the rare, beautiful and diminutive Trout Lily blooms (we hope). Known as one of the harbingers of spring, Trout Lilies are one of the signature wildflowers at Tandy Hills and a fascinating plant to learn about. Master Naturalist Jim Varnum will lead a TL fishing expedition. Free.
